Seasons for Change: Maria Razumovskaya (piano)
The evocative miniatures that make up Tchaikovsky‘s The Seasons represent a bridge, perhaps existing only in the imagination, to an ‘old Russia‘—one untouched by the social unrest, inequality and violence that spilled over into civil war and revolution. Steinway Artist Maria Razumovskaya, who has been described as a ‘virtuoso story-teller of the piano’ (Le Courrier), has performed extensively in major festivals and venues across the United Kingdom and internationally, and has given masterclasses in Italy, France, Russia and Germany. As well as an acclaimed concert pianist, she is also professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a lecturer at the City Literary Institute. Watch her perform this all-Russian two-part programme below on JdP Livestream.
